| Mission | | |
|
I created this website to detail current and historical events that demonstrate the superiority of the free market and private property. Conversely, I want to expose the economic and social destruction caused by statism.
It is extremely easy to research any topic on the Internet - whether through Google News or free market news sites such as LewRockwell.com or Strike the Root. I compiled stories, links and information on Mark Valenti's Liberty Page for easily accessible information on many topics.

Socialist Democrat (1990-1997)
As a public school graduate and University student, I was fed the typical diet of socialism: government is our friend, corporations are bad, white people cause poverty, humans destroy the environment.
I held many absurd beliefs such as that the government should mandate that black people compromise 25% of all actors in commercials. Don't ask me how this is even feasible, or if it was right for me to force others to comply with my arbitrary 25% rule. And if you pointed out these points during that time - why, you were a racist.
I even voted for Bill Clinton in the 1992 election.
Like most young people, I was a childlike idealist and readily accepted the socialist utopia outlined by politicians, professors and other so-called progressives.
Small government Libertarian (1997-2002)
Free-market libertarian and anarcho-capitalist (2002-present)
I slowly recognized the futility in investing time and money in a "rigged" political campaign. Most individuals did not understand basic economic reasoning and clung to vague statist notions that glorified interventionism.
Then came the morning of September 11, 2001.
So-called "libertarian" think tanks, organizations and individuals suddenly converted to statism and endorsed federal intrusions into all of our lives. The Republican statists advocated government progams and foreign invasions. The Cato Institute, Capitalism Magazine and even the Libertarian Party became mouthpieces for increased government.
Only the wonderful folks affiliated with LewRockwell.com, The Ludwig von Mises Institute, The Future of Freedom Foundation, The Foundation for Economic Education and Strike the Root maintained the true path to liberty and rejected statism.

Letters to the editor are an easy and effective method of introducing many people to an overview of the benefits of the free market. My hope is that at least one person will read any of my brief letters and research the topic in greater detail.

| Some emails I've received | | |
|
I sometimes receive positive emails from various people throughout the world. Apparently, my site is succeeding in one of its purposes - spreading the truth regarding government intervention. Here are just a few of them (I removed the names and parts of some messages - if you wrote one of them, please let me know if you want me to remove the text).
- Thank you for your great reference
documenting the problems with socialized health care. I'm at an age now where I'm starting to consider how things like this affect me, and your article was very informative and I've used it several times to discuss socialized health care's pitfalls with my friends. Just saying thanks! - January 21, 2005
- Your site was extremely helpful
in finding information on the Farm Bill. I wanted to thank you for putting together such an insightful plethora or articles. It looks very nice, too. - January 18, 2005
- I just wanted to say thanks.
Your site is fantastic...I have first-hand experience in how the health care system [British] works. You compilation of articles is massive...I thank you for your careful research and making that information publically available. - January 16, 2005
- I was having a casual conversation with someone
about the differences
between U.S and Canadian healthcare. They were bragging about Canada's
"free" system, and other than a gut feeling that socialized medicine is
"bad", I couldn't really tell them why. I did a quick google search on
"canadian healthcare problems" and found your site right away. I just
wanted to let you know that I was very impressed with your site and all the
information it contains. It was extremely helpful and informative. Thanks! - December 15, 2004
- Great work!
I thank God for patriots who stand firm on our Constitution... - October 29, 2004 (This was part of an email regarding my "Why the United States is not a Democracy" page).
- I want to compliment you on your website.
It is one of the best libertarian sites I've seen and your links are tremendous... - October 21, 2004
- I think you website has the most comprehensive

- I stumbled onto your site during
a Yahoo search for a Jefferson quotation.
I found the quotation and much more...Thanks for doing the hard work of liberty and providing a very useful online resource. - August 19, 2004
